Mayor’s Clergy Council

The stated purpose of the Clergy Council is “Building a Better Community.” The vision of the Clergy Council is to Promote Unity in the Community by Partnering with Government and Related Agencies. The mission of the Clergy Council is to Build a Better Community by Fostering Healthy Racial Relations.

Mayor’s Council of Clergy Priorities:

    • Promoting Unity in the Community:
      1. Praying for Macon-Bibb Community
      2. Encouraging Congregants to pray for Macon-Bibb Community
      3. Participation in Paired Clergy/Paired Churches Relationships
      4. Participation in Unity Events
      5. Participation in Prayer Wall
      6. Participation in Prayer Walk
    • Partner with Macon-Bibb County Government or Related Agency
      1. Clergy to meet with your commissioner
      2. Clergy attend Commission Meetings
      3. Clergy Provide Invocation for Commission Meetings (Sign up at Clergy meetings)
    • Partner with Educational Resources
      1. Mercer University/Wesleyan College/Middle Georgia State
      2. Central Georgia Technical College/Miller-Mote
      3. Bibb County School District

The Council gathers at noon for approximately an hour and half once a month, generally on the last Thursday of each month. An agenda is prepared, and lunch is served.
