Changes to garbage billing; Property owners to receive six-month bill included on property tax bill

On Tuesday, August 21, 2018, the Macon-Bibb County Commission voted to change back to quarterly bills for solid waste (garbage, yard waste, and recycling) collection. The ordinance directed a six-month solid waste charge of $120 on their property tax bills in September. This will cover solid waste services from January-June 2019. This charge, and the property taxes, will be due in two installments by October 15, 2018 and November 15, 2018.
Quarterly billing for solid waste services will begin in July 2019, and each quarterly bill will be for $60 per property. Below is a schedule of the quarterly bills, what period they will cover, and when they will be due.
