Television series filming episode Downtown

April 10, 2019

A television series called “Brooklyn” will film one of its episodes in Downtown Macon-Bibb from April 14-19. The show is an hour-long drama revolving around a police force, according to the production crews. Its pilot episode was partially filmed Downtown in May and June of 2018.

In order to accommodate this filming, portions or all of several streets will be closed for periods of time, and that schedule is listed below. For a map of the closures, click here. (On the maps, red is a full closure and yellow is an intermittent closure, or ITC.) Should there be any changes, the list and map will be updated.

“We’re delighted the pilot for “Brooklyn” that was filmed here led to the show going to series, and that we get to welcome the crews back to Macon-Bibb County!” says Mayor Robert Reichert. “We are becoming recognized, not just as Film Ready, but Film Friendly because of the work of Visit Macon and our departments, and for the cooperation and welcoming nature of residents and businesses.”

“This is very exciting for Macon-Bibb because we will again get to see our community on the big screen,” says District 2 Commissioner Larry Schlesinger. “This is a boon to business, tourism, and our positive identity, and I look forward to many more shows and movies coming here.”

This television filming follows several movies and shows that have filmed in Macon-Bibb, including The Bingo Long Traveling All-Stars & Motor Kings, Wise Blood, A Trip to Bountiful, The Crazies, Trouble with the Curve, 42, Need For Speed, The Fifth Wave, The Best of Enemies, and Zombieland: Double Tap. Several television shows have also filmed here, including Brockmire, The Originals, The Vampire Diaries, and Witches of East End.
