Tim Adside takes pride in being a go-to guy. From safety repairs to landscaping to keeping our streets clean, he’s ready for anything, and that’s why he’s our Staff Spotlight this week.

Tim’s professional life started with a stint at the old Crown Plaza hotel while he was in high school, but Tim decided he’d rather be outside. He started his career with the City of Macon 20 years ago in the Public Works Department as a service worker. Now, as a Crew Leader in our Parks & Beautification Department, he takes the service workers in the department out to get work done. He tells them what’s on the agenda for the day and helps to keep them safe.

“One of the main things I do, is answer SeeClickFix tickets and make sure we act in a safe and timely manner,” says Tim. “That could include clearing rights-of-way, mowing, removing hanging limbs, and cleaning up litter. We also do a lot of landscaping. Basically, if the team at the office knows I’m good at something, it’s assigned to me. I take pride in that!”

If you take a walk in Downtown Macon, you’re sure to see some of Tim’s favorite work he’s done. “I’d say, 85% of the trees, shrubbery, and landscaping you see downtown – I planted it. I love that part of the job. Doing the work, and then getting to see our beautiful city.”

Outside of the office, Tim is a family man who loves music. He’s married with three kids, ages 12, 7, and 3. His family enjoys going to church, and spending time just having fun. Tim is also a drummer who brings the beat wherever he goes.

“I truly love what I do because I get to meet so many people. I’m always helping with events like Bragg Jam, Cherry Blossom Festival, Keep Macon-Bibb Beautiful Community Cleanups – I’ve become known as the “take-care guy” and that makes me feel good.”

Tim, we appreciate all the care you take to keep Macon lookin’ good. We’re glad to have you on #teammaconbibb!
