Trash Talk: Recycling

We all want to do our best to protect our environment and planet. Recycling is one way to do that, but if you’re recycling incorrectly, you could harm our planet and ruin someone else’s efforts to protect it. As Ryland Environmental transitions to collecting all trash, yard debris, bulk waste, and recycling in Macon-Bibb County, we want to remind you of what you can and cannot put into your new blue recycling carts.

“We want to have a viable recycling effort in Macon-Bibb County,” said Ryland Environmental Managing Partner James Lanier. “This will allow us to market those items to be recycled more readily, and they won’t have to go into a landfill.”

“As we are working through this transition, we want to be open and transparent with you, as well as educate you,” said Mayor Lester Miller. “We are confident this change will improve your trash and recycling pick-up. Thank you for being patient throughout this process.”

There won’t be any changes to what you can and cannot recycle. Ryland Environmental will continue to follow the County Code Ordinance.
