Macon Mental Health Matters (MMHM) invites the community to take part in its two Wellness Weekends this month, featuring opportunities to move, reflect, and connect.
The first event kicks off with a Pop-Up Gym on Saturday, November 8, at the Booker T. Washington Community Center (401 Monroe Street) from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Participants can nurture both mind and body through drum circles, therapy sessions, yoga, and fresh produce giveaways, which are all designed to promote mental and physical wellness.
The following morning, Sunday, November 9, MMHM will host its Healing Hike at Brown’s Mount (Brown’s Mount Trail) beginning at 8:00 a.m. This event encourages open conversation and connection with others and with mental health professionals, all while enjoying the natural beauty of one of Macon’s most peaceful trails.
“Our goal is to make mental wellness something everyone feels welcome to explore,” said MMHM Coordinator Andrea Cooke. “Whether it’s through movement, nature, or conversation, there’s power in showing up for yourself and your community.”
On Tuesday, November 11, Cooking & Counseling returns to the Robert Train Building (715 Oglethorpe Street). This class is already fully booked, but those interested in future sessions can click here to sign up.
The week continues with Women’s Wellness Circle on Thursday, November 13, at Chic Culture (446 Cotton Avenue) starting at 7:00 p.m., offering a supportive space for women to share, reflect, and recharge.
Closing out the week, Yoga in the Plaza will take place on Friday, November 14, at Cotton Avenue Plaza (446 Cotton Avenue) at 7:00 p.m., inviting participants to unwind and center themselves under the evening sky.
All events are free and open to the public.
