On Tuesday, March 15, Macon-Bibb County and partners will celebrate a year-long effort to have all of the fountains Downtown working again. This included upgrading existing fountains, getting old ones working again, and adding new fountains and water features

Each of the fountains and water features (listed below) will be turned on 8:00 p.m.; at several of them, local groups connected with them will speak about 7:45 p.m. about their involvement and what it means to them.

“The water features of a downtown area can be central points for people to gather or to enjoy moments of reflection, for groups to host concerts and other events and have it as the backdrop, and for children play in, as they will be be able to at Daisy Park,” says Macon-Bibb Mayor Robert Reichert.

“This has truly been a community effort, one with a great deal of support and many people stepping forward to make sure this happened this year,” says Parks & Beautification Director Stephen Lawson. “It would not have been possible without our departments working together and our partners helping with planning, finding money, volunteering, and so much more.”
