Public safety grants approved

Commissioners approved resolutions to accept three grants for Public Safety. The first is a grant from The Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency (GEMHSA) for $40,970 so the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office can get and maintain an Explosive Ordinance Disposal Program. You can read details on that here. The second grant is another from GEMHSA for the BSO. It’s a $3,000 grant that will get and maintain an Explosive Ordinance Disposal K9 Program. Click here to see those details. The third grant comes from The Georgia Governor’s Office of Highway Safety, and is $25,096.39 for the Sheriff’s Office to combat impaired and aggressive drivers.
