On May 31, the Warner Robins Air Logistics Complex (WR-ALC) and Middle Georgia Regional Airport signed a Memorandum of Understanding making it easier for the two to work more closely together. The event took place at the Middle Georgia Regional Airport (1000 Terminal Drive), and the MOU was signed by Macon-Bibb County Mayor Robert Reichert and Warner Robins Air Logistics Complex Commander Brigadier General John Kubinec.
The MOU establishes a mutual understanding and working relationship between the WR-ALC and Airport to support current industries and the United States Air Force. It also lays out strategies by which the two would be able to better attract new industries that would support the Air Force and entire region, and provides access to resources and capabilities available at both that would benefit either.
“We know that Macon-Bibb County is being seen more and more as a great place for industries and businesses to locate, and this partnership opens more doors for our Airport to better serve our military and strengthen our community,” says Mayor Reichert.
“The biggest plus in this arrangement is the 76-year-old bond we share with Middle Georgia and our state – bonds that have only grown stronger over time,” says Brig. Gen. John C. Kubinec, Warner Robins Air Logistics Complex commander. “Our Memorandum of Understanding is a ‘natural’ because our histories are inextricably linked. And because our ties are strong and time-tested, success via the MOU will come just as naturally.”
“This regional partnership lays the foundation for demonstrating a more invested community for both the WR-ALC and Middle Georgia,” says Isaac Culver, Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce Board Chairman. “The signing of this MOU greatly expands the available resources that Middle Georgia can offer our existing businesses as well as those looking to relocate.”
“If we can help attract industries that support Robins Air Force Base’s mission, then we are serving our military and our entire state,” says Erick D’Leon, Airport Manager. “This MOU sets up a closer working partnership and will help us become a hub of industrial and military logistics activity.”
