Each year, Macon-Bibb County’s Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Commission hosts a series of events to celebrate and honor the life and legacy of the civil rights leaders. This includes the annual March on Monday, January 16, when people will meet at four recreation centers before marching and coming together at Macon-Bibb County Government Center (700 Poplar Street).
The marches begin at 11:00 a.m. at the following locations:
Booker T. Washington Community Center
391 Monroe Street
Rosa Jackson Center
1211 Maynard Street
Frank Johnson Recreation Center
2227 Mercer University Drive
Memorial Park Recreation Center
763 Long Street

Other events this weekend include an event hosted by The Mentors Project, special worship services, youth programs, drum circles, poetry readings, a 5k race, a banquet, a breakfast, performances, and more.
