Macon – Bibb County grand jurors met Tuesday and returned 10 indictments.  An indictment is a charging document issued by grand jurors if the group determines probable cause exists for the case to move forward toward trial.  Each defendant is presumed to be innocent unless and until they are proven guilty in a court of law.

Indictments returned include:

  • Antonio De’Juan Walker, 23, of Macon, is charged with malice murder, two counts of felony murder, two counts of aggravated assault and one count of possession of a firearm by a first offender probationer. Walker is accused of fatally shooting 21-year-old Monterrius Dugger on March 11, 2018. He also is accused of shooting two other people, according to the indictment.
  • Logan Riley Nettles, 19, of Macon, is charged with aggravated assault – family violence and violating the Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act. Nettles, who is accused of striking his father in the head with a gun, was previously indicted in September. The gang charge was added in Tuesday’s indictment.
  • Brothers Bruce Edward Davis, 36, and Felix Hughes Jr., 30, and their mother, Sheryl Denise Smith, 54, all of Macon, are each charged with eight counts of dogfighting. The charges stem from allegations Davis and Hughes possessed dogs in 2015 with the intent to fight them and that Smith knowingly permitted the crimes to occur on premises under her control, according to the indictment.
