District 3 Commissioner Elaine Lucas is holding a Town Hall Meeting for District 3 and all of Macon-Bibb County on Thursday, March 23 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Northeast High School Media Center (1646 Upper River Road).

In attendance will be Wesleyan College Professor Dr. Tom Ellington, Georgia Federation of Teachers President Verdallia Turner, Bibb County School District Superintendent Dr. Curtis Jones, District 1 School Board Member Ella Carter, At-Large District 8 School Board Member Dr. Wanda West, Legacy Builders Foundation CEO Vicki Perdue Scott, Planning and Zoning Senior Planner Greg Brown, JR Olive with Mill Hill East Macon Arts Village, and several neighborhood watch presidents.

“Education is so vital to the future of Macon-Bibb County, and the success of our students and educators is directly tied to the success of our community,” says Commissioner Elaine Lucas. “There are many changes happening locally and federally with education, and this will give people a chance to learn more about what’s being done to help their children, both in and out of the classroom.”

Since Macon-Bibb County was created in January 2014, Commissioners have held a series of public meetings to provide updates on the consolidated government, answer questions, hear concerns, and help solve any issues they may have in their neighborhood.
