At the August 21, 2018 Macon-Bibb County Commission Meeting Pastor Dexter Jordan from Center Hill Baptist Church led the invocation.

4H students Christopher Martin and Kambria Foster led the room in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Agenda Items

Commissioners voted to approve amendments to the FY2019 Budget. You can view the current budget and related meetings by clicking here.

The Commission voted to override the Mayor’s veto of the amended garbage ordinance. Quarterly billing will begin again summer 2019.

 

The Commission voted to approve the 16th amendment to the SPLOST project timeline to reflect expenses that are part of current projects. 

This includes $136,300 for Luther Williams Field, $71,000 for The Grand Opera House, and $100,000 at Bowden Golf Course.

An amendment passed for a contract with Georgia Behavioral Services for the Blight Task Force Initiative. You can read more about it here.

Commissioners approved an amendment with RumCreek Enterprises to allow for project management duties not identified as SPLOST projects. 

The Commission approved using $4,800 for Digital Court Reporting Equipment for Probate Court.  They also approved $22,000 for Superior Court to get the same type of equipment.

Some of the young people involved in The Macon-Bibb Youth Commission, our student civic engagement program, will attend the annual League of Cities Youth Conference. An agreement was approved with Wakefield/Beasley & Associates Architects for $91,650 to do a needs assessment at the Courthouse to begin a major SPLOST project.

The board approved an agreement with Ogles Construction for landscaping and exterior renovations at the Macon Centreplex.

Commissioners approved a transfer of $1,810 to cover part time, overtime, and workers compensation expenses.
