At the Macon-Bibb County Commission Meeting on April 16, 2019, Pastor Christopher Cabiness gave the invocation. Students Shania Henderson and Marissa Henderson led the Pledge of Allegiance. Thank you to all of them for attending and contributing to our meeting!

Also at the meeting, Mayor Robert Reichert and our Commissioners proclaimed April 22-26 as Community Development Block Grant Week in Macon-Bibb County.

Agenda Items

The Board approved amending the Macon-Bibb County Charter to allow the District Attorney to receive supplemental retirement benefits.

Commissioners voted and approved two items relating to moving Municipal Court from Government Center (700 Poplar Street) to the Bibb County Courthouse (601 Mulberry Street). The Board approved $1.4 in SPLOST funds for improvements at Freedom Park.

Commissioners approved action with the Macon-Bibb County Urban Development Authority to reduce debt payments on revenue bonds. Click here to read details on this item.

 

The Board approved transferring funds within the I.T. Department budget to cover the purchase of additional software licenses.

Commissioners approved a lease agreement with the Middle Georgia Regional Commission for office space at 175-C Emery Highway.

 

 

The Board approved the use of eminent domain to acquire temporary easement at 548 Hazel Street, and permanent easements at 525 Hazel Street and 539 Hazel Street. Click each address to read more about the property and the plans.

Commissioners amended the Code to allow for the contracting of the position of Chief Building Official.

The Board amended procedures for the Business Development Services  Department for the enforcement of the Georgia State Minimum Standard Codes.
