Macon-Bibb County Government Offices will be closed for the holidays on Christmas Eve & Christmas Day (December 24 & 25) and on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day (December 31 & January 1). The trash, recycling, and bulk waste collection schedule is outlined below. All emergency services (Sheriff, Fire, E911) will remain active at all times.

Collection Details

Trash and recycling cart pickups, handled now by Advanced Disposal, will occur as usual on Monday December 24, and Monday, December 31. There will be no pickups on Christmas and New Year’s days, and the rest of the week will be a day late. For example, Tuesday pickups will happen Wednesday, and so on through Saturday. The Macon-Bibb Solid Waste Department will still maintain its four-day per week collection schedule, picking up yard and bulk waste each weekday except Christmas and New Year’s Days. Visit SW.MaconBibb.us for additional information or to access SeeClickFix and file a pickup report.

Commission Meeting Change

Because the regularly scheduled Macon-Bibb County Commission Meeting would fall on New Year’s Day (Tuesday, January 1), the board voted to move it by one day to accommodate the holiday schedule.
